ML Infomap today boasts of a strong team of software/GIS professionals with high levles of academic distinction and research experience. It draws on the abilities and knowledge of its geographers, computer programmers, engineers and specialists in satellite Remote Sensing and GIS to understand client requirements and deliver dependable solutions.
The company also has a panel of experts on whose services it can call upon as and when required in the collection of data, engineering field survey, aerial survey and systems integration.
FOUNDER
Dr. Manosi Lahiri, the founder of the company, is a Ph.D. in Geography, programmer and certified instructor in GIS. She was educated at the Universities of Calcutta, Delhi and London and introduced to GIS in the mid 1980s at Durham University, UK. She has twenty four years of hands-on experience in GIS support in business, environmental and infrastructure projects and in developing digital map products. In the course of a distinguished career, Dr. Lahiri has been consultant to international organisations like IDRC, UNICEF and UNCRD. She is an internationallly recognised authority on the subject. In recognition of her professional contributions, she has been awarded the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at Map India 2010 by GIS Development.
Dr. Lahiri has authored several school books, including Understanding Geography Books I, II & III, Oxford University Press and Works Books in Geography, Books I, II & III, Oxford University Press. The first published report of a GIS project in India, The Bihar GIS (Popular Prakashan, Mumbai, 1992) was authored by her.
Dr. Lahiri is interested in travel and writing. Her recent travelogue, Here Be Yaks, Stellar Publishers, 2006 has received excellent acclaim.
